Front End

Simple Dashboard

Simple Dashboard

A simplified version of the dashboard as seen by the end-user. This shows the available areas as four main tabs along the top of the page. You'll also see a Season Summary area displaying some key information about the current season(s). The main area of this dashboard is consumed by three main dashlets which provide a quick insight into current standing and statistics relating to the currently selected season. It is possible to allow the users to rearrange these dashlets to their liking by simply clicking and dragging!

Detailed Dashboard

Detailed Dashboard

Using the Simple Dashboard as a basis, the Detailed Dashboard adds even more information for your users. In addition to the features outlined by the Simple Dashboard, the Detailed Dashboard adds a 'My Score Summary' to show the user their current scores and ranks for each season they are participating in. The 'Last Round Summary' is also added. This section outlines the winners from the last round of each season the user is participating in. Not also, in the Simple and Detailed Dashboards, the overlayed additional information. Hover your mouse over the icon/logo for any team and you will see a hover over with a larger logo and any additional information or description that has been entered for that team. Hover your mouse over any of your current tips to see more information such as the margin or scores you also picked!

Team Ladder

Team Ladder

The Team Ladder lists all teams in the currently selected season. For each team you can optionally show a number of fields including Played, Wins, Draws, Losses, Points For, Points Against, Point Difference and Total Season Points. A Legend is shown below the list of teams which explains each abbreviated column heading.

Submit Your Tips

The layout of this page can change slightly depending which options are select in the Season and Game setup areas. This shot shows a Round that also allows the user to tip the margin for each game. Also, the team logo for each team is optionally displayed.

Below the tipping is the DoubleUP field which doubles a user's score for that round. Below that is where the user can enter a comment for the round. Comments are displayed on the competition ladder after the round has been finalized and processed. At the very bottom of this shot is a link which, when clicked, will slide out a complete Team Ladder for quick reference.

jTips allows your users to select some default settings for themselves. This shot shows how users can set their preferences for features such as Time Zone, Default Season and Email Reminders.

Administrator Dashboard

The Administrator Dashboard provides administrators with a quick and easy way to navigate to all aspects of the jTips system. The overall layout of the Administrator Dashboard is very similar to the default Joomla! Control Panel (the first page you see when log in to the Administrator area.

The Dashboard is split into two areas:

  1. Navicons - access to the areas of jTips.
  2. Overview Tabs - a number of tabs on the right which provide access to a snapshot of the system; updates; help and more. Each of these tabs are shown below.

General Configuration

Configure the main setup of jTips including Comments; DoubleUP; BadWord filters and Community Builder integration.

Display Configuration

Display Configuration

There a lots of configurable settings in jTips to control what is displayed to the end user. This is where to can setup the amount information that appears in the Front End Dashboard - you can make it simple, detailed, or anywhere in between!

Notification Configuration

Notification Configuration

The Notification Configuration area lets you setup the body of emails to be delivered to user at various times. You can also enable automatic email reminder to be sent out to users just prior to a round closing, to remind them to submit their tips.

PayPal Configuration

PayPal Configuration

Setup jTips so that your users are required to pay a fee in order to join the competition. Simply use PayPal to generate the required code and paste it into the PayPal Configuration area. Also, make sure PayPal is selected for Enable Payments in the General Configuration area.

The jTips Demo Site is now available for you to check out the intricacies of the jTips system. The Demo Site is loosley based on the Australian NRL competition. However, the demo data is completely refreshed and randomized every 12 hours! Not everything can be randomized however, so the Comments and BadWords features have been disabled. You can log in to the Demo Site in both the front end and administration areas to really get a feel for how the system works.
